The costume you have seen in the Waluigi Trailer was just an early pass so we could reveal it. It has been heavily revamped for the final release since those issues were considered from the start.

I don't understand how dropping Marisa fixes the game, nor how it respects Zeus in general, but that ain't my call. Marisa's a face I'm happy to see, even if I'm not personally a fan of Zeus for reasons mentioned earlier like Quality Control.

More polish and some things like certain costumes and my artwork aren't finished. We also have a few TOP SECRETs left here and there.

Just because we see certain things as fine and acceptable when some players don't does not mean we don't focus on competitive. Play 2.x.6 and then come back to 4.0b and tell me the game has not gotten more balanced and competitive over the years.

This wasn't an oversight, but an intentional thing done by Sakurai and his team, as Yoshi can't do it in any official game except 3DS/WiiU. We're considering letting him jump out of shield.
