You are indeed correct. Defragmenting a flash card will use some of the card's write-cycles, causing it to wear out sooner. However, it should be negligible if you defrag in moderation.
Last night the blossom, bubbles, and buttercup servers were hacked. The whole system is dead and will require a full reinstall. Luckily for me, I have an alternate OS I use for gaming, so this should be easy.
