Sonic's homing attack can take time to charge or take less time, depending if you use an attack input, however multiple times I have just shot off instantly. It's cool, but completely unexpected which screws me up.
edit: realized people may think I'm an idiot and am mistaking the shield pressuring homing mash with this, and it may be that but it's never right after I hit someone's shield. It may be the grace period being elongated for some reason or something.
