All changes since the initial 5.0.5 release are included, changes introduced in 5.0.5a and 5.0.5b will be designated as such.

:bowser5:
  • Fixed Bowser immediately going into idle when landing while in Special Fall
    • Bowser's Aerial Up Special was the root of many annoyances, mainly from combo breaking, and being very tough to punish. This will tone those down while keeping it strong where its intended.
  • Royal Rampage
    • Super Armor now goes away once the grab box goes away when whiffing the grab
    • (5.0.5b) Changed detection hitbox angle 25 -> 0
      • The former hitbox would pop foes up off the ground which kept the grab from working properly.
  • Whirling Fortress
    • Now starts on Frame 4 instead of Frame 1
:cfalcon5:
  • YOU GOT BOOST POWER has been restored.
  • Jab 3
    • Weak hitboxes were made into Strong Hitboxes.

:drmario5:
  • Dash Attack
    • IASA Frame 24 -> 36
  • Back Throw
    • Final hit is No Longer Electric Element
      • The element and its hitboxes actually aided foes in living from this attack higher than they should have. Back throw should now have a better time killing.
:ivysaur5:
  • Two new colors based on Snover and Toadscruel have been added
  • Giga Drain
    • This move has been completely recoded to fix a crash in Turbo Mode.
    • Knockback changed to send foes outwards instead of down.
:kirby5:
  • Dash Attack
    • Decreased Start-up (Frame 15 -> Frame 12)
    • Hitbox now disappears as flames disappear (Asynch Timer 40 -> 35)
  • Olimar Kirby

  • Ike Kirby

    • Removed Weighted Knockback and Knockback Growth on first two hits
    • Base Knockback on all first hits set to 40
    • Base Knockback on all second hits set to 30
      • These changes should improve consistency when connecting hits.

:mario5:

      • The move can no longer be canceled before the first hitbox comes out.
:marth5:
  • Up Smash

    • Removed weight dependant knockback on first 2 hits
    • Set base Knockback on all first hits to 40
    • Set Base Knockback on all second hits to 30

    • Added a lower hitbox on the 4th Upwards blade swing to help Marth hit smaller foes.
:mewtwo5:
  • Two new colors for Armored Mewtwo have been added
  • Down Throw
    • First hitbox removed, now only second hitbox exists
    • Total damage reduced 14% -> 7%
    • SFX that would have played on first hitbox now plays on second

    • A landing hitbox has been added
      • 2% Damage
      • Knockback Angle 20
      • 50 BKB

      • This serves to prevent an infinite

:pikachu5:
  • Quick Attack
    • Pikachu will no longer be allowed to Attack cancel out of Up Special unless he is touching the ground when it ends.
    • You were able to do 1 zip straight upwards and still get the attack cancel upon landing before, now its much less lenient
:ridley5:
We noticed very early on that Ridley was overperforming; even in areas he wasn't intended to. This patch tones him down a bit while keeping him very strong where he was supposed to be. While this patch is mostly not for bigger balance changes, as Ridley is a new addition, we felt the need to address him sooner.
  • Ridley’s AI will now properly use Up Special while recovering.
  • Forward Air
    • Endlag increased 12 -> 16 Frames
  • Back Air

  • Impact Event (DownB)

:rob:

    • Fixed a Momentum Bug when using this move out of hitstun
  • Down Air
    • Fixed a Momentum Bug when using this move out of hitstun
:samus5:
  • Glow effects to her default costumes have been added
  • Charge Shot (Neutral Special)
    • Reduced Endlag when canceling charging the move into a shield 14 Frames -> 4 Frames
    • In 4.2 it was 0 frames, which also felt off. This allows you to cancel it without going into shield, which is also nice as now you can charge in the air as well, and if it was 0 like 4.2, it would always cancel into airdodge.
:snake5:
  • Neutral Air
    • Reduced Shield Damage (8,8,8,13 -> 5,5,5,9)
  • Down Air
    • Reduced Shield Damage (5,5,5,6 -> 3,3,3,4)

      • Sonic can now only Bounce off the ground 2 times per airtime. If Sonic gets hit or hits an opponent, he will regain those bounces.
Squirtle51
  • Two new colors based on Cloyster and Magcargo have been added
:toonlink5:
  • Spin Attack
    • Fixed a vBrawl bug where if Toon Link uses this move without using his double jump but gets hit out of it, Toon Link loses access to his double jump despite never using it.
Wario51
  • Bike
    • Bike Explosion no longer creates a hitbox when it is destroyed by attacking it
    • This Created a lot of situations with the new explosion from getting damaged (not the one from hitting a wall) that were frustrating and non-interactive. We tried to find a good solution and the best was to just revert its functionality back to how it was.
:yoshi5:
  • Yoshi’s broken egg shells are now the same color as the unbroken egg
  • Jab 2
    • Ground Cancel on-hit removed
    • Even without the cancel, the move is still quick

  • Down Air

  • Nyaru’s Love
    • Momentum removed from the grounded version of the move
    • The system changes of 5.0 caused this move, which went completely unchanged, to start functioning weirdly. This is the way we decided on fixing it as it keeps a lot of its utility, especially in the air, while making it a worse approach option and escape tool onstage.
