Black and white screen

I can run Brawl- almost without problems, but whenever it starts the screen is black and white, and stays so. I am playing via Configurable USB Loader, and have tried having Hooktype on AXNextFrame and VBI, but the screen is still colorless.

Could this possibly be an issue with the input cables? I've never heard of this before.

I have actually managed to find a solution. I am using a european CRT, and since NTSC doesn't run on the same frequency as PAL, the screen becomes black and white. However, I managed to force the game to run at 50 Hz via the usb loader, which the CRT can handle.
