Adding new character slot with BrawlEX in 4.0

So I'm new to Smash modding and just wanted to try adding the 2D Zeus Marisa into Minus 4.0b; but all the tutorials I see on this are pretty dated since it seems that 4.0b already has BrawlEX integrated into it. Is there a new tutorial out there for adding characters? Is it more simple now that BrawlEX is included with the mod pack?
