No I don't have another SD card but I can try that in the future. Oh but I just remembered that I had the strap screen freezes on 3.3 but then I reverted to v1.01 on the same SD card and it worked fine. So I don't think it's the SD card. But still, I can try that in the future.

Thanks. I did that, changed the Gecko setting to AXNextframe before starting the game, and it works. Does anybody know any details about this issue? Why does the game freeze for some players and not for everyone? Why does deleting the config.dat fix it?

I'm glad I could help! And since I wrote that post I realized that it probably runs Gecko OS from the boot.elf in the root directory, instead of from the apps directory like when using the Homebrew Channel, because Smash Stack automatically reads what is in the root. Right?
