Greetings! Welcome to my profile
and have a wonderful time!
Congratulations, ambiguous visitor that is either a guest or member of this message board, you have arrived at what I presume to be your destination! Welcome to my about me, where I'm gonna try to do my best to... well, tell you all about myself.

Again, welcome to my profile. My name is Felix, I've just recently gotten back here onto Smashboards after getting an account and never using it much afterwards. However, that's been changed! I've been with the series since Melee in '03, a game which I played nearly all the damn time back when I had a GameCube as a kid. I was with Brawl's hype train as soon as I saw that E3 2006 trailer, and me playing both games for years started my love for Super Smash Bros., in my eyes a truly fantastic series that sparked my passion for Nintendo and being a Smasher in general, be it yukking around with friends or being involved in competitive play. I've been playing Smash seriously since early 2015 and hope to do even better from that point!

I love all five Smash games equally (yes, I am including Project M) and play them competitively to an extent, but as it needs to be said, I'm not perfect. I'm still learning and wanting to improve my play every day, and being around an intelligent and expansive of a community such as Smashboards will probably do me very good in that regard. Of all Smash games, I'm most versed in Smash 4. I've only recently gotten into PM and Melee and am learning out the kinks, I'm quite aware of the high skill ceiling for both games but they're a ton of fun to play! I also still play Brawl... yeah, kind of a black sheep as you can see. I go to tournaments whenever I can to, so if you fight somebody around the Central Florida area with the tag "Feelicks", it's me.

Aside frm that, I'm interested in a lot of things, those things include video games, films, any form of animation, anime and manga, cartoons, artwork, all that good jazz. Just a fair warning, if you ask me about something I'm really passionate about (in short, anything related to films, animation and Nintendo. Oh, and girls.)

I’m sixteen years old, and currently live in Orlando, Florida, and a junior in high school. I like to describe myself as just kinda there, though I try to do my best to get around in most social situations. Most of the time I'm pretty quiet and reserved, but I'm told at times that I'm rather sociable around people I know or am comfortable around. I'm pretty easy to get along with if anything, and it will take a lot of effort you you to ever truly make me go cattywumpus. Plus, even if I am slightly annoyed or disapprove of the actions/behaviors of other people, I can't really say that I outright hate anyone. I'm pretty chill in that regard, honestly.

I've been a moviegoer for quite a long time, I love to critique and watch movies, no matter the quality. I love learning about our world each day, be it world history, events, new advancements in science and technology, and (seldom) politics. I love typing and writing, especially when talking about my interests, making film or video game critiques, expressing my thoughts on a certain subject. I love to learn new things, as anyone should. A bit unrelated, but a quote that I keep dearly to myself is "Keep moving forward.", a quote that I consider will help drive me in my future endeavors.

I am very much into the art of film. Heck, my lifelong dream is to become a film director and animator. Preferably at where I want to work, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and to find a place in the film industry in general. I love films more than you would ever imagine, and the people who make them possible. Movies take us to a places where imagination reigns over all, where anyone can craft their own world with their own characters and stories, and we as the audience are able to immerse and lose ourselves in those worlds. Whatever genre it be, science fiction, comedy, western romance, drama, musical, epic, I don’t mind ‘em. Have these words from a wise man, who is one of the greatest directors to ever live, Stanley Kubrick (not to mention one of my biggest inspirations!):

"The screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys emotions and moods that no other art form can hope to tackle.”

Speaking of film directors, I have many favorites, but there are way too many to list. If anything, you should know that Hayao Miyazaki, Steven Spielberg and Stanley Kubrick are all some of my biggest inspirations, and the reason why I want to direct films and share my own stories to tell.

I also love, love, LOVE animation and have had a huge affection for it since I was a kid. It’s truly fascinating how so many artists and visionaries can bring drawings to vivid life, and as I said with films, craft any type of world with them. In short, animation can do what live-action can't, and can be utilized to tell any sort of story. If you believe otherwise or ever dare classify animation as a genre or something only for little kids, you will be greeted by my fist in your face.

Any sort of animation is okay with me in my book, though I have a personal preference for traditional animation. I still adore CGI and stop-motion, however. Motion-capture animation also can be great when done well and avoiding the reigns of the uncanny valley, which is sadly only a rarity among most films that utilize the technique.. When it comes to animation studios, the ones that defined my childhood the most were Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar, and I love them to bits this very day. Even if Disney’s library has fluctuated in quality from time to time (and two films in the Disney canon are some of my most hated animated films… looking at you Home on the Range, Chicken Little), I still have a massive affection for a majority of their works, and both have fueled my love for the art of animation and have given me the incentive to be an artist in the first place.

However Studio Ghibli is my favorite animation studio period, every single one of their films is simply enrapturing, with stunning visuals and animation, great characters and writing, and some beautiful music, man. The messages sent in some of their films are especially important to everyone, no matter what age they are. Other animation studios I like a lot and therefore usually watch films from are DreamWorks, Laika, Warner Bros. Animation and Aardman. I also like Don Bluth's films, but mostly his early ones.

Video games have also been one of my favorite pastimes, as well. Nintendo's my favorite game company (next to Insomniac Games, they're pretty damned rad) and I absolutely adore them to bits, so expect me to fanboy about them here and there. Some genres I'm into are some indie games, platformers, third-person shooters, and racing games. I currently own a Wii U and 3DS (which sadly broke, but hopefully I'll get a new one by the Christmas of 2015), but my favorite console is quite possibly the Nintendo GameCube. I’m planning to get a PS4 sometime next year once there are more games that pique my interest, although the console itself seems like an amazing piece of hardware. A good amount of some of my favorite game series are Super Mario (along with most of its subseries and spinoffs), Ratchet & Clank, Shantae, Kirby, Burnout, Kid Icarus, Star Wars Battlefront, Rayman, Sonic, MOTHER, Star Fox and well, Super Smash Bros.!

Oh yes, I almost forgot. Anime. I like anime. I watch more anime films much more frequently than I do TV anime, but some favorite anime studios of mine are Madhouse, KyoAni, Toei Animation, Gainax, and Trigger. But however, I'm here to say I am part of the Studio Ghibli master race, as mentioned before. Some of my favorite animoose films are any Studio Ghibli film ever (that isn’t Tales from Earthsea because screw that), Tokyo Godfathers, Little Witch Academia and its sequel The Enchanted Parade, REDLINE, Akira, Summer Wars, Metropolis (2001), Wolf Children, Paprika, and 5 Centimeters Per Second. I would also go on about my favorite animation directors, but 99% of you wouldn't know who the hell any of them were, so nope, moving on. :V

I do read, but I'm more of one for artbooks, and "making of" books than traditional novels or anything of the like. I love listening to music, mostly when studying, reading a book, or just by myself chilling alone. Classical and orchestra music tend to tickle my fancy, but I love other genres such as jazz, rock, house and country (Very, very rarely. Don't judge.) I love a great amount of video game soundtracks, and by that I mean a lot.

More about stuff I like to do, hmmm… I draw, I really, really like to draw. I doodle time and time again in my personal sketchbook, and love to look at work by some other artists whose work I tend to be a fan of. Here's an art topic I have here on the forums which you may check out! I write my own stories but don't really post them publicly, will hope to do so someday though.

…Wow, is that it? If it’s truly the end of this wall of text, I give you my greatest thanks for being able to read through all this. If you wish to get into contact with me off the forums, I do have a Skype along with some other contacts if you wanna bother playing some vidya with me or just wanna talk to me. PMing me is something I don't mind as well along with just leaving a comment on my profile, if you wish to approach me that way.

But enough of my rambling, farewell! See you around the boards and have a positively Smashing day!

Smash 64
My least played Smash game. Might do Netplay considering my computer can easily run N64 emulators. Never really got into it as much as the others, probably because I lack the attachment that I do with other games in the series due to never growing up with it. Kirby, Falcon and Ness are the ones I really do well with in this game, although I tinker with other characters. Still can't deny the game has its charms, maybe it'll grow on me if I give it more of a chance. We'll see.

Melee
The very game that got me into Smash, and Nintendo in general. I've very recently gotten back into the game, and I'm brushing up on my old mains along with learning characters I had ignored during my time with the game as a kid. I'm very excited to get into this game seriously as much as others are, Melee is one of my favorite games of all time and I'm super pumped to learn it inside and out. The fast-paced gameplay really gels with me along with some of the really neat advanced techniques.

Brawl
One of the best times I had with a game growing up into my middle school years. Most time I invested into a Smash game as of far even if Smash 4 is already coming dangerously close to that. Never played this game in a competitive setting during its lifetime, but I've been relearning the entire game in recent months since I'll be hosting a tourney at the end of my school year and Brawl will be there, and I hope to find Brawl locals around me if there are any... I can hope. Maybe I'll host one someday. Even if most people aren't fond of this game, I still love it to this day. I also play the game actively on Wi-Fi, so if you wanna Brawl just leave me a comment or message me!

Project M
Only have recently gotten into playing Project M, around August of 2015. I play the game actively online and am still trying out new characters and improving upon the ones I already play. I've been alternating between this and Melee to give myself a feel for the environment in both games, and it seems to help. Making the transition to this game in terms as to which characters I play hasn't been easy, but I'll definitely manage! Hit me up if you wanna play on Wi-Fi!

Sm4sh
The entry in the series I'm currently dedicating most of my time to, and my personal favorite Smash game to date. I play online a fair lot so hit me up with a friend request or message me if you wish to fight! Some characters I use as pockets, but they're not shown below. Maybe you'll run into them when we Smash! On an important note, I strictly play the Wii U version due to my 3DS being broken and generally feeling more limited when playing on a 3DS. Sorry to disappoint any 3DS players out there. Maybe I'll play again when I get a New 3DS but we'll see.
